- The reverse of the coin depicts two bees seen from above, reflecting the interest of King Charles III in nature and conservation.
- On the reverse of the coin, the left side features the monetary value of '50 Pence', on top of a repeating pattern of three interlocking C's, which form the background design.
- The background design of three interlocking C's, a repeating pattern on the left side on the reverse of the coin, was inspired from the history of previous monarchs with 'C', representing King Charles I, 'CC', being used for King Charles II and the letters 'CCC' being used in the cypher for King Charles III.
- The obverse of the coin features the official, uncrowned portrait of King Charles III, created by Martin Jennings.
- The Latin inscription around the obverse of the coin, 'CHARLES III · DEI · GRA · REX · FID · DEF · ', an abbreviation of 'CHARLES III DEI GRATIA REX FIDEI DEFENSOR', translates as 'Charles III, by the Grace of God, King, Defender of the Faith', followed by the year '2025', in English.
- A 'Micro Text', inscription of 'ONE POUND' is featured on the lower inside rim around the outer edge on the reverse of the coin, which is included for enhanced security.
- The reverse of the coin was created by artists and engravers at The Royal Mint with the approval of Gordon Summers, Chief Engraver at The Royal Mint.
- Featured on the obverse of the coin below the portrait of King Charles III, is an innovative lenticular feature, described as a 'Latent Image', which transitions between the '1', and the '£', symbol, changing appearance when the viewing angle changes.
- The initials 'MJ', of the artist Martin Jennings who created the official portrait of King Charles III, are displayed on the obverse of the coin, below the neck of the portrait.
- Released into general circulation in the United Kingdom, British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies.
- The same coin was first released in 2023, marking the start of the reign for King Charles III.
