  • Created by King Henry VII after the Wars of the Roses, the Tudor Rose featured on the reverse of the coin symbolised the start of the Tudor dynasty, with the union of the House of York and the House of Lancaster.

  • St. Edward's Crown was originally a medieval crown dating back to the 11th century.

  • The Latin inscription around the inner reverse of the coin, 'IHESUS AUTEM TRANSIENS PER MEDIUM ILLORUM IBAT', translates as, 'But Jesus passing through their midst went his way'. It describes how Jesus miraculously escaped a crowd attempting to kill him in Nazareth, an inscription used on English coinage which included Tudor Half Sovereign coins.
  • The inscription around the outer reverse of the Quintuple Sovereign coin, 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE', is a dialect of 'Old Norman French', which was spoken by the medieval ruling class in England, translating as, 'Shame on him who thinks evil of it', the motto of the 'Order of the Garter', a British chivalric order.
  • The obverse of the coin illustrates the uncrowned portrait of King Charles III, created by Raphael Maklouf.
  • The Latin inscription around the obverse of the coin, 'CHARLES III · DEI · GRA · REX · F · D · GIBRALTAR', an abbreviation from 'CHARLES III DEI GRATIA REX FIDEI DEFENSOR GIBRALTAR', translates as 'Charles III, by the Grace of God, King, Defender of the Faith, Gibraltar', alongside the year '2026', in English.
  • The signature initials 'RDM', of the artist Raphael Maklouf, are positioned on the reverse of the coin at the base of the neck, on the portrait of King Charles III.
